You can collect Cipher Coins to advance your research, and Health Tonics to increase your maximum health (lasting until you die). Instead of Magic, Plague Knight uses Arcana (via an energy meter). By holding the Attack button, you can trigger a bomb burst to explode up, left, or right. When airborne, tossing bombs slows his descent. 
Instead of melee attacks, he can throw bombs - up to three at once. Plague Knight only has one jump height, but can double jump.
